Community Garden Revival

In Summer 2023, Brainspark Games transformed a neglected outdoor space behind the Westway Sports Centre into a vibrant, child-led community garden in North Kensington.

As part of our Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) Programme for children eligible for Free School Meals, we integrated the garden into our summer camps, giving children hands-on access to nature, creativity, and outdoor learning.

To turn an “unloved” space into a safe, inclusive environment!

Our aim was simple:
To turn an “unloved” space into a safe, inclusive environment that promotes wellbeing, environmental awareness, and community pride.

Working with local designer Neda Soltani and engaging over 50 children, families, volunteers, and local artists, the space was reimagined to reflect the character and diversity of the community.

Impact:

  • Encouraged empathy for nature and climate awareness

  • Supported children’s mental and physical wellbeing

  • Strengthened community engagement

  • Revived an underused area of North Kensington

This special initiative demonstrates how Brainspark Games extends beyond digital innovation, creating immersive, real-world educational experiences that empower children and transform communities.
