Showcasing Innovation in Maths Education at the Maths Summit
In March 2024, Brainspark Games had the opportunity to present our multi-award-winning maths prototype at the Maths Summit, hosted by the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology.
This event provided a platform to showcase how maths is embedded into every aspect of our EdTech games, from programming and game mechanics to the development of our upcoming Maths IGCSE game. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of mathematicians through interactive, engaging learning experiences.
Driving Innovation in Maths Education
At the summit, we shared insights into how game-based learning can enhance mathematical understanding by making complex concepts more accessible and engaging. Through interactive gameplay, students can:
Apply maths skills to real-world challenges in subjects such as climate science and physics
Build problem-solving abilities in a dynamic, immersive environment
Prepare for Maths IGCSE exams in an innovative and engaging way
The event also featured discussions with education leaders and policymakers about the future of maths education, addressing critical topics such as:
The "leaky pipeline"—the declining number of students continuing with maths at higher levels
The role of maths in policy-making and its impact on future industries
How technology and gamification can help sustain students’ interest in maths
Shaping the Mathematicians of Tomorrow
The Maths Summit was a valuable opportunity to connect with experts and contribute to conversations about improving maths education through technology.
At Brainspark Games, we remain committed to:
Developing innovative maths games that make learning both fun and effective
Bridging the gap between education and technology to support students at all levels
Encouraging curiosity and confidence in maths, ensuring learners are prepared for the future
As we continue to evolve our maths-focused educational tools, we look forward to further collaborations with educators, researchers, and industry leaders.
How do you think game-based learning can transform maths education? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
